Carnavaling in Nice

I swear I try my best. I go somewhere and start out acting all cool and proper and my age,
BEFORE: around 7 in the evening,
at a café in the old part of Nice, having
delicate glases of kir with friends.

but as my mom will tell you, I was born hyperactive. And I haven't been cured of the malady. Give me any reason to have fun and make a party, I'll be grabbing it.

AFTER: At the Promenade des Anglais, at the height of the
Carnaval , bombarded with silly string and confetti, some of which
I'm sure I swallowed, given how big my open mouth was.

I imagine I'll be one of those grandmothers wearing feathered purple hats and dancing the mambo into their eighties...

(Maya took the pictures. For deeper insights on the merits of silly string, go to her blog through my links.)

I have absolutely no intention of ever acting my age; I haven't done so in at least 10 years, so why start now? So Apol, when we're in our eighties -- or even nineties -- you know who to call when you feel like shopping for feathered purple hats and are in the mood to dance! That reminds me...I just saw a feathered hat last week that I'm dying to buy...

Hey, DISPARATE H, are you Ianne?

Yes, ANALYSE, it was a riot! We had silly-string battles with lots and lots of kids! Galing ng mga sharp-shooters, derecho ang aim sa mata at tenga.

KATRINA, funny but I actually had a picture of you in my head when I was typing that line about purple hats.

MAYA, game! Say it pa!!! HAHAHAHAAHA!

GWYN, love and lust do wonders :)

Hey, Apol, guess what? I just read on another blog (MarketManila) that your Provenciana was featured on PAL's Mabuhay magazine as a site to visit! Did you know that? Well-deserved, girl! :-)

KATRINA, tell Felipe I'm flattered. And you scared me, as you already read in my latest blog entry :)

NOELLE, I'm tickled pink by the compliment. Salamat!

MAKIS, yeah, I know!
